Pioneers of British steam
Puffing Billy, Rocket, Sans Pareil: all pioneer British steam locomotives. On May 23rd 2013 I got to see Timothy Hackworth's Sans Pareil - runner up at the Rainhill Trials at Locomotion, Shildon. She is displayed with the reverence her place in history deserves. On Sunday 11th November 2012 I visited the Science Museum in Kensington, London. There I saw the first steam locomotive: Puffing Billy and George Stephenson's legend: Rocket. Thursday 16th May 2013 I christened my first digital camera at the NRM, York. Agenoria was present. Friday 27th May 2016 I visited Head of Steam in Darlington for George Stephenson's 1825 legendary Locomotion number 1 and Derwent 25. Also early engines Hardwicke and Cornwall. I caught up with Liverpool and Manchester railway 57 Lion AKA the Titfield Thunderbolt at the Museum of Liverpool 28th May 2018 and again on Saturday 26 June 2021.
